Men have embraced plastic surgery as a way to keep looking their best. A desire for self-improvement that is driven by competition in the workplace and the prevailing youth culture has resulted in men becoming an increasingly common presence in the plastic surgeon’s office. From treating facial aging to improving body contours the many surgical and nonsurgical options now available have attracted an increasingly diverse group of men in all age groups.
Men are seeking out procedures such as neuromodulators like Botox® Cosmetic to treat wrinkles, injectable fillers to restore volume, and energy devices to tighten, lift, and smooth the skin. Surgical procedures that make them look younger, more rested, and more representative of how they actually feel include the treatment of baggy eyelids, nasal appearance, excess neck, hip, and abdominal fat, and gynecomastia or male breast enlargement. The minimal downtime procedures performed today make their acceptance amongst busy professional men and women very high. A common comment that is heard from many men is “make me look better but don’t make it look obvious.” Dr. Forley’s approach, in over 25 years of practice, has always been to keep it natural and nonsurgical looking for both men and women.
Fortunately, technology has advanced to the point that we are now able to offer multiple options that enable us to find the perfect fit for every patient. Making the correct diagnosis and offering the appropriate treatment is as important in plastic surgery as in any other medical specialty. Dr. Forley will devote as much time as needed during your initial office visit to determine treatment choices that will best address the issues that are of greatest concern to you.

Men frequently complain about the sagging appearance of their neck as they get older. In some cases, it is due to an accumulation of fat that can be effectively treated by liposuction. This approach requires good skin quality so that it will retract following the removal of the excess fat. In the past, the only option for loose skin was a surgical neck lift. The advent of the minimally invasive NeckTite procedure has enabled both fat contouring and skin tightening without scars and with minimal downtime.
Baggy appearing eyelids make us look tired and older. It is frequently one of the first signs of aging that we notice. The cause is primarily related to prominence of the fat pads within the lid. The tightness of the ligament located at the junction of the eyelid and cheek contributes to the circle that becomes progressively more apparent under the eyelid as we get older. Although surgery remains the definitive option for treatment, effective camouflage of the baggy eyelid can be performed non-surgically with conservative placement of an injectable filler to restore a smooth transition between the eyelid and cheek. This makes the fat pads appear less prominent. By masking the demarcation of the junction between the eyelid and the cheek, a more rested and youthful appearance is achieved with minimal downtime.
Both surgical and non-surgical procedures can be performed in a way that achieves a natural and untreated appearance. The aesthetic sensibility, attention to detail, and conservative approach that is the hallmark of Dr. Forley’s approach assures you of the best possible outcome to fit both your goals and lifestyle.
The anti-aging benefits of growth hormone supplements remains controversial. Extravagant claims and equally extravagant marketing has been a fixture of the anti-aging discussion for several years. Scientific studies have been conflicting and are yet to demonstrate a firm conclusion as to the usefulness of growth hormone supplementation for age related changes in the body. Considerable risk of adverse reactions and undesirable side effects with the use of growth hormone has also been reported.
There are many cosmetic procedures today that do not involve scars. These include Botox® Cosmetic, injectable fillers, lasers, and energy based tightening procedures like FaceTite. Surgical options for self-improvement can frequently be performed with scars that are minimally apparent.

UK-based Tatler discussed Dr. Forley in its 2008 Beauty and Cosmetic Surgery Guide as one of the "A-list of cosmetic surgeons"..."who are at the top of their game"...and whose "innovations are shaping the art of cosmetic surgery around the world." It was noted that Dr. Forley’s "discreet Upper East Side clinic is perfect for women and men in search of minimally invasive natural-looking surgery.
Julia Reed writes that Dr. Forley, "disarms me by asking what I might like to have done. Nothing, I say, sure that I mean it. And then he shows me before and after books of tiny little neck lifts, subtle browlifts involving tiny little incisions well hidden within the hairline. In ten years, he assures me, I’ll be thinking about it. I actually like him. And I fear he may be right."
